About Me

I am a native of Buffalo, NY, and I currently work as a Children's Librarian for a small public library branch in a suburb of Dallas, TX. I love getting an opportunity to talk to teens about great books.

A few years ago I realized that I was sick of slogging through adult novels only to be barraged by heavy violence, overly crude language, and depressing plot developments. I have quite an open mind, but there's only so much death and destruction a girl can take before she's had enough. I found myself seeking out YA novels more and more, and now they have become my favorite. While not always cheerful and upbeat, they do give a sense of hope to their readers, proving that the world can be a good place.

I started this blog as a way to remind myself what I thought of a book. I also wanted to give back to the book blogging community; if not for them, I might not have picked up many of the titles they have recommended.

When I'm not at work or reading, I love to knit and play video games. My current drug of choice is World of Warcraft, though I have wasted countless hours on The Sims games. I've recently rediscovered a love of bike riding, and can be found most Sundays riding around various parts of Dallas.
